Riveted 'W.H.Smith of Whitchurch' Galvanised Cheese Vat Cart. Circa 1870

Cheese making vats were used on farms for about 100 years from the mid 19th century. A lever on the side enables the vat to be tipped for emptying. The top is trimmed with a thick brass capping which has a lovely verdigris colour. The hand painted decoration, colour and scale of this is lovely.

The ideal height to create a statement kitchen island, table, desk or as a moveable garden planter.
